To help launch registrations for Digifest 2020 we showed 'digital citizens' in their natural environment, off-campus, relating to these students as people rather than customers.
The film was produced in-line with the event's branding and photography - portrait-focused, shallow depth of field, natural and diverse - and led the event's webpage header.
We produced a suite of digital holograms in collaboration with Holotronica and for use with their 3D holographic screens.
Four models and actors delivered key content to direct attendees to upcoming workshops and seminars from the main hall, whilst others were used as background looping assets.
Glows and other effects were used to enhance the 3D aspect of the holograms, whilst costumes and glitches created a futuristic sci-fi aesthetic.
Occasionally the phone will ring with a brief that gives us the opportunity to do something completely new.
Jisc have always been keen to push the boundary's of audience experience and being asked to create giant 8m tall holograms reminiscent of those in Blade Runner 2049 was a real treat.
To capture the content our crew used the resolution and depth of RED 8K RAW from our Helium mounted in a vertical position. The real trick was getting the talent to imagine themselves as being 8m tall in a room full of tiny humans!
We fused footage created in the build up to Digifest 2020 by ourselves and another agency along with coverage of the event to capture the spirit and atmosphere of this annual event in an extended edit.
"JonesMillbank have delivered various films and animations for us and have proven to be trustworthy, creative and personable. I love hearing their thoughts on projects we work together on, and everything they have delivered has exceeded my expectations. They’re a very friendly bunch too, which certainly makes them even more of a pleasure to work with."
We were commissioned to create this year's video opener that explores the past year and the future of working in education.
For 2020 we created a suite of holographic assets including video holograms, 3D logos and idents inspired by the retro sci-fi aesthetics.
Hosted by Jisc in 2020, TNC needed a film to reveal Brighton as next year's host city at the 2019 event in Tallinn, Estonia, alongside stats of the city.
We're a full-service video production company based in Bristol.
